CM/ECF

CM/ECF (Case Management/Electronic Case Filing) is the Federal Judiciary's case management system for all bankruptcy, district, and appellate courts. Each court maintains its own CM/ECF database, which is tailored to its local rules and e-filing requirements but the basic program works the same in each court.  NextGen CM/ECF is the latest format of CM/ECF, which allows central sign-on and account maintenance options for attorneys, but essentially looks the same as the Legacy CM/ECF program.

PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) is the portal for the public to access each court’s CM/ECF database.  There is no charge to obtain a PACER account.  However, fees will be charged to the PACER user’s account when viewing reports, case docket sheets, and documents that are filed in a court’s database.  For more information on how to obtain a PACER account and how fees are collected, please visit the PACER website at https://pacer.uscourts.gov or contact the PACER Service Center at (800) 676-6856.

PACER accounts are also used by attorneys to file new cases and to file documents in existing cases.  Before an attorney may file in any particular court, however, that attorney must be admitted in the court or must be otherwise granted access to file.  For more information, please visit the Application for Admission page on this website.

You can access CM/ECF in this court by clicking on the Login link located on the menu to the right, by returning to the Home page and clicking “E-Filing (CM/ECF)”, or by visiting the PACER website and selecting “File a Case” from the main menu, then searching for this court under “Court CM/ECF Lookup”.

At this time, Self-Represented Litigants (parties who are not represented by an attorney) are not permitted to file cases or documents electronically.  For more information, please see the Self-Represented Litigants (SRL) page on this website.
